i had problems with my line for 3-4 weeks now sky said the would put me back on dlm for 10 days which expired yesterday but i think my stats have got worse since then

using adsl nation faceplate

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 5632 kbps 800 kbps
Line Attenuation 46.0 db 29.5 db
Noise Margin 12.7 db 14.0 db

before the problem everything was great stable speed of 7.1 meg and great ms ping of around 35-45

any ideas please

Ring them. Ask for the cap to be lifted.

Tell them to keep it on G.DMT. You just want the cap lifted.

No switching to ADSL2+..

I am sorry to hear of the issue that you have been experiencing with your Sky broadband service. I have checked your line and I can confirm that there are no caps on the line and that your connection is currently set to G.DMT.
I have also checked your line speed and I can confirm that your current download speed is 5440 Kbps, approximately 5.4Mb.

Your case is completely different, the OPs line is capped as can be seen by the noise margin being way above the default. You are not capped as your default noise margin shows.

Saying they are lying might be a bit extreme, it is quite possible the T1 team think this is the case, as I believe few of them can actually see the noise margin. They can only report what they see. This is the big advantage of getting through to the elusive CST, who can see everything that effects your line.

Changing the line mode would require it to be reconfigured, which would initially remove the cap. It would then be capped down to its stable rate.
