@ sign problems please help
Hi everyone,
About two weeks ago i tried to connect to the internet but found a small triangle with an ! in it, so i went to look at the Sagemcom Router to find that the @ sign was flashing amber for about 5 seconds and then going off for 5 seconds and repeating this in a loop. I tried to turn the router of and back on again but the problem wasn't solved. The next day i found that the @ sign was green and working, but later that day the problem happened again.
It also does this every time the modem gets turned on and off/reset, its annoying because i often have to reset it to enable xbox live to work but cannot anymore because of this problem.
any help would be appreciated thank you.

Re: @ sign problems please help
Can you disconnect everything from your router, except the router's PSU & the ADSL lead that plugs into your telephone line via the microfilter.
If the @ symbol is currently green, then your router is connected to the Internet. For reference the Sagem 2304n takes around 2 minutes to settle down. The flashing @ light in different colours is normal.
Now reboot you laptop and connect it to the router.
It should settle down and the wireless symbol should be fine.
If it still does not appear correct, could you post the version number of your router's firmware & post your full router stats please.

Re: @ sign problems please help
hi thanks for the reply,
i have done this and it seems that the @ takes about 3-5 hours to settle down.
i think this is what you want,
System Details
Manufacturer Sagemcom
Model Number F@ST2304
Firmware Version 5.14.6.1a4N
ADSL Firmware Version A2pD030n.d23b
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 224 kbps 384 kbps
Line Attenuation 63.5 dB 31.5 dB
Noise Margin 7.7 dB 8.0 dB
here you can see how shockingly awful my connection is

Re: @ sign problems please help
Your stats indicate that you have a very long line or that there is something else causing you a problem.
You do have the most recent firmware available though. This is a good thing.
Could you see if you can, could you plug your router into the Test socket, using the short grey ADSL lead supplied by Sky with the router and a microfilter.
Ensure that nothing else is connected, specifically the Sky STB telephone line.
Also could you confirm whether or not you have a burglar alarm? Recently someone had one which was incorrectly wired to the telephone line and this was the cause of their poor speeds.
Can you then post the stats from the test socket please.

Re: @ sign problems please help
As well as taking stats from the test socket:
Any noise or issues on your landline telephone?
How many telephone sockets do you use?
Is there a microfilter connected directly into each telephone socket in use, ensuring that nothing is before the filter?
Is the router connected to the master socket or an extension socket?
Are you using the short grey dsl cable that Sky provided, or running an extension telephone cable to the router?
Do you have Sky tv connected to any telephone sockets - if so, how is that connected to the socket?

Re: @ sign problems please help
ok so i tried to connect the router to the test socket but when i plugged the grey cable into it the orange light flashed for hours and didnt connect to the internet so i could get the statistics.
Q1: yes we do sometimes get noise/interference on the cordless telephone.
Q2: we only use one telephone socket.
Q3: BT openreach engineer came and fitted a new box which contains all the filters needed in it.
Q4: the router is plugged directly into the socket with nothing before it.
Q5: i am using the grey dsl cable that they provided.
Q6: yes, this is how the set up is.
first has a computer image above the socket
Telephone box > grey cable > router
second has a phone image above the socket
Telephone box > splitter > telephone and then on the splitter at the bottom there are 2 white cables plugged in for sky HD+ and Sky +.
