bad pings
Ok my last provider, I pinged the BBC website at 25-30 ping, got sky set up yesterday and pinged BBC at 42 MS.. Ok.. higher then expected but it's ok, now today it's at 60 ms!!!
Why is this happening and what can I do about it?
I like to play a lot of online games and I can't if I'm lagging.
My system details.

Re: bad pings
Best edit out any reference to IP addresses and MAC addresses for security reasons.

Re: bad pings
you need to wait 10 days
it changes settings every night
dont turn off your modem or reboot it for the next 10 days

Wait till the 10 days DLM training is complete, then ask to be put on a gamer profile.
With the low noise margin you have it is likely your speed will come back down. If you have an NTE5 socket, plug into the Test socket and see if your noise margin increases any.

This is the best I've ever had and coincidently I've run a TCP/IP optimizer within the last few days.

Re: bad pings
Quite poor for a FTTC product.
If you want better latency ask them to put you on Fast path.
Normally the DLM at BT puts you on fastpath while on the initial training process. But restarting your router even once causes it to switch to interleaved. It usually takes a few months before it goes back again.

Re: bad pings
Not when you're across the water in Northern Ireland it ain't. It is fast path I believe, even my mate on 50mb Virgin gets 23-26ms. Its due to the distance to London just and being routed through Scotland.
