Are you using WiFi or Ethernet?

Re: poor speeds
Those stats show that you should be getting 13Mb.
If you run a speed test, you should get results of around 10-11Mb from Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test .
Firstly how are you connecting to the router?
Are you or anyone else doing any torrents at the same time?
Ideally if you can connect to the router using an Ethernet cable and run a test on the Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test site we can see what is happening.

Re: poor speeds
Use any speed test except that one - notoriously unreliable. Use the one on this very site!

Re: poor speeds
i am currently connected via wi-fi but have connect to the router directly with an ethernet cable with no difference in speeds. i am not running and torrents or anything that would have an impact on the connection speed, i do not have any viruses either. On the speedtest site i get around 8mb down and 700 kbps upload, but on this site i got 3576 kbps down and 668 kbps upload.
We have detected that your ISP is Sky - Your current download speed is 3576Kbps, and your current upload speed is 668Kbps.

Re: poor speeds
There are a couple of other possibilities that could explain your problem.
Someone could be using your WiFi connection, without your consent. I note from your profile that you have a non-Sky router. Could you see if there is a page which lists 'Connected Devices'? See what is there and account for anything in the list.
If this is not the problem, could you reboot your computer and select 'Safe mode with Networking' and redo the speed test on this site please?
Do not leave you computer connected for too long like this as it will not have any AV or Firewall protection.
If there is someone connected who shouldn't be, there are things that can be done to prevent them. Let us know which router you are using and hopefully someone will know the settings required. I am thinking of things along the following lines:
- change your SSID (network name)
- change the password
- make use of the 'Approved devices' or 'Wireless Access list' list

Re: poor speeds
have tried all of the above suggested. nobody is connected to the router apart from me i have looked at the attached devices in the netgear router configuration page. safe mode also has poor speeds....
I have compeletely run out of ideas, sky seem to be certain it is not an issue at their end..

Re: poor speeds
You could try a different router if you have one.
This would confirm that it isn't your router.
Beyond this, others may have other ideas, I would be inclined to call Sky and ask if there are a lot of errors showing on the line or if you can speak with someone in CST.

Re: poor speeds
hi there,
i have believe i have found out the issue i recently changed the dns server ip address on my router to the open dns address, my speeds went up instantly to the 1000 kbps mark. I believe this may fix many ppl issues in this forum. how shall we proceed?
