Hello all,
Only had my broadband service activated this evening, just wanted to post my router stats to see what speeds you think will be achievable.

Line Attenuation: 44.5 dB / 27.5 dB
Noise Margin: 15.1 dB / 14.0 dB
Thanks,

8-9 MB
Don't restart your router during the training period.

Re: New to SKY Broadband
That looks to be G.DMT at the moment, so 7-8 would be good.

Re: New to SKY Broadband
Hello again,
Finished the testing period on my connection as of the 22nd of July, speeds have been pretty shocking during this period and are still poor now (in comparison to previous provider) any help would be massively appreciated.
Connection speed: 3071 kbps / 798 kbps
Attenuation: 48.5 dB / 26.3 dB
Noise Margin: 13.9 dB / 8.0 dB
During the testing period, even downloading standard definition content from SKY Anytime was a fairly lengthy process.

Need to ring Sky and ask them to configure it manually.

After 1 and a half hours on the telephone to Sky Broadband tech help, i've unscrewed the faceplate of, and tested the router in every single socket in my home.
We're plugged into the master socket, and these are the router stats ... even worse than before i placed the complaint.
Connection 2048 kbps / 512 kbps
Attentuation 44.5 dB / 27.5 dB
Noise Margin 7.1 dB / 24.0 dB

Re: New to SKY Broadband
That can't be the master socket, do you not have a test socket?

Re: New to SKY Broadband
The trouble is that your noise margin is almost at default, indicating that there is interference on your line. If you do not have a Test socket, unplug everything you have plugged into the telephone line, except the router. So you should have only the filter and router plugged into the Master. . Using only the cable supplied by Sky take and post your stats.
For some reason they have also put you back on G.DMT.
