Speed seems very low

thanks for the message. I haven't got a corded telephone so I can't do a quiet line test, but I haven't noticed frequent dropped connections.

In fairness you are not alone. As a matter of personal safety though I would highly recommend that you purchase & use a corded phone (a cheap one will do).

Should you ever have a power cut or experience an electrical outage, the majority of wireless phones do not work.

You can turn the ringer off on most of them these days, so it shouldn't prove to be a nuisance.

For reference though, the reason why I asked for you to use a corded phone is that some wifeless phones suppress a little hiss in the background, whilst others introduce it. A corded phone could have provided the all important clues.
