Sky 'upgrading' their systems today
Not sure if this is for all Sky users or just in our area (Formby) but we had a letter through the post a few weeks back telling us that a systems upgrade would be taking place on the 1/7/11.
It seems this upgrade has just taken place as we lost our connection for around 30 seconds or so this morning at 11am. I checked our router stats once it reconnected and it seems we now have 500kbps better download, and 300kbps better upload speed
Previously our DL rate was always maxed at exactly 10.239Mbps and Upload was always around 800kbps
Now DL is 10.800Mbps and UL is 1.1Mbps

Re: Sky 'upgrading' their systems today
Did the letter say you were being moved onto Sky's network (Sky Voice and Broadband Network)?

Re: Sky 'upgrading' their systems today
Neither, really. Just means you've been moved onto Sky's network in which data and voice run through their own equipment at the exchange.

Re: Sky 'upgrading' their systems today
Ah ok thanks
Just noticed the network type in the router stats now show MER so that's different too.
