Internet speed dropping dramatically
Hello.
I've been with Sky for a couple of months now. I didn't have much problems with my internet speed until now. My download speed dropped from 2 mb/s down to 70 kb/s, and my upload speed from 600 kb/s down to 20 kb/s.
I've literally tried everything; restarting my router and my computer and a couple of other things, but nothing worked. What may be causing this?

Whilst the figures that you've posted are useful, there are some which will help us more. Could you post all your router's stats please?
In the mean time, could you also plug your router into the Test Socket and take a copy of the stats from this point too.
Whilst using the test socket, any telephone extensions you have should all be dead. Can you confirm this too please.
Edit: Ok, Exdee beat me to it. Could you post the same from the test socket though as well. Thanks.

The stats are in the attachment.
I'll test out the test socket now and let you know if anything happens.
Edit: Tested out the test socket; no difference whatsoever. No point in uploading another screenshot as it's the same. Also, I have only one phone socket in the house.

Thank you for that, but we aren't looking at the connection speed alone. Can you confirm that the line noise for both the downstream & upstream were identical please?
Also just use the microfilter, the short grey ADSL lead that was supplied by Sky and the router. Do not have anything else connected when checking the figures.

Not the kind of stats I was hoping for. Anyways ring sky and ask them to put you on G.DMT and uncap you. Leave the router in the test socket when you call.
