Slow Downstream Connection Speed
Hi, I moved into my old family house a few weeks ago and ordered Sky. I am on Sky Broadband Unlimited and it went live yesterday.
The download speed seems very poor, especially conisdering when i used to live here I was with Be and would get 23Mb/s, I live about 100m from the exchange.
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 4095 kbps 510 kbps
Line Attenuation 13.0db 7.7db
Noise Margin 15.4db 17.5db
I know it is early days and the DLM will train my line, but it seems far too low to me.
The above stats are from the test socket.
I presume it is too early to bother contacting sky?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: Slow Downstream Connection Speed
Everybody starts at 4MB so nothing wrong there. You've got a low attenuation so should be able to get 20MB. Just make sure you don't disconnect your router during the DLM period. ADSL2+ with Sky is an upto 20MB service. Sometimes DLM can configure your speed to more than that. Not likely in your case because I think you are on the Easynet DSLAM.
