I connected via the test socket after those stats above and everything worked fine. I then connected via the ordinary master socket, removed the cordless phone from an extension socket and that worked fine!
Do you think that was the problem - the cordless phone ?

It could be, but is more likely to be a poor filter. If you have extensions fitting and using a filtered faceplate would give you the best result. You can still fit a faceplate even if you don't have extensions, but the only gain would be cosmetic. A good quality plug in filter such as this would suffice.Do you think that was the problem - the cordless phone ?
