And please don't think I am moaning!
I am most pleased with my connection!
However, me and my wife are looking at moving house at some stage, and we are looking at a new development which is only 1 mile away... however, you can see the exchange from the bedroom window in the one house we looked at.
Needless to say, I'd like that one.

The planning applications may well have already been submitted for them. You should be able to find this out from the local planning offices.
After that, it is purely a case of playing the waiting game I'm afraid.

In the meantime, I'll just enjoy being smug at how the BT guy claimed I could never receive more than 4Mb (despite having 8Mb with them happily for nearly 2 years..................)

Latest stats
Connection Speed
15358 kbps/1110 kbps
Line Attenuation
27.0db/15.4db
Noise Margin
7.5db / 8.6db
Actual throughput has dropped one step to 1.57MB/s, but that is still very good. One of my friends who lives nearby (on a different exchange) recently had BT Inifinty installed. While he is now enjoying 37Mbit internet, I'm not envious (much)

With line stability perhaps more of an issue for many people, I would suggest that things are looking better for you now.
You upstream has been increased, with the noise margin suitably decreased too. Whilst the downstream has dropped off a little, in the overall scheme of things, this is perhaps better for your line.
Still better than BT though.
