G.DMT is basic ADSL sometimes referred to as ADSL1. I can tell by the speeds you are syncing at
It is capable of speeds up to 12Mb although Sky do not use its full speed. It uses less of the frequency range ADSL2+ does so is less susceptible to interference.

Re: Speed problems
Just an update, not that theres much to say. Ive not had any more contact with Sky since Friday, so Ive been on the phone for almost 2 hours this evening trying to find out what's the next course of action.
Unfortunately tier 2 are unreachable at the moment so I will have to try tomorrow
Stats are just the same as above, with the downstream noise margin jumping around from 4.6 to 6 .5 dB still

Re: Speed problems
A funny thing happened last night, I was in the middle of a game with a few mates on Black Op's when all of a sudden I lost connection. I sent a message to my mates asking if they got booted as well but they hadn't.
I checked the light's on the router and everything looked ok but it still wouldnt let me sign back into the playstation network for a few minutes at least.
All this happened at pretty much bang on midnight, so I decided to check the router stats and now it's syncing at a slower speed again, (below 3,000Kbps)
So it looks like some kind of adjustment was carried out at the exchange I pressume, I'm only asking out of curiosity and I know there not much you guys and gals can do.
Fingers crossed Tier 2 will get in touch over the next few days.

Re: Speed problems
Just another update, Finally Sky did ring me back thankfully, they have arranged for another BTO engineer to try what I think she called a P+E swap, which is a swap around of the cable in the cab, to the exchange side instead of the property side.
here's hoping

Re: Speed problems
try changing the filter and connect to the master socket if not connected, or try connecting the test socket by removing the faceplate of the master socket n give a call to sky they will have a check if they can increase the speed for u. If ur line supports only 4 mbps there wont be any use if u join other providers i believe. If ur using a wireless connection try changing the channel try logging on to 192.168.0.1 router setup page on I.E...try channel No:11.
