Sky broadband activated yesterday, slow connection?

My Sky unlimited broadband was activated yesterday and we were told that our line would start with a 4MB connection. I've just connected it to the main telephone socket and am getting the following data:

Am I wrong to expect 4MB straight away?

How many sockets have you got in the house?
Are you using the short grey dsl cable and a micro-filter that Sky supply?
Is your sky tv box connected to your phone socket?
Can you post your stats from the test socket?

Hi,

There's just one socket in the house and I am using the Sky provided grey cable and filter to connect. The Sky box is not connected to the phoneline.

I've plugged it into the test socket as suggested and the results are below. There appears to be an increase in speed which is good but still nowhere near the 4MB that we were told we'd start with.

Any advice is much appreciated.

- Something somewhere is not right. Living in a flat?
- Have you got any junction boxes in your place?
- The main BT wire that you see when you access the test socket. Is it concealed or can you see where it's going?
- Any noise on the line?
