I agree with what Scubbie mentioned earlier, about the only time the router needs switched off is:
going on holiday for a period, in order to save electric
to change the IP address
to unlock it, if it has frozen
to change the noise margin if you are having problems
so that you can relocate it

A drasticly lower sync seems to be the main reason for dlm kicking back in
I set my Target Margin to 50db the other week
i synced in a 4 meg or so cant remember
That night dlm kicked into action
even though i only did it the once
I also renewed my contract the month before though
so it may also be that
but it was odd that it was the day i set the margin to 50
