Re: drop in speed!!
Happy to help, but there are other people on here who are better than I
. Tom (Isitme) for example knows a great deal more than me.
This looks a lot more healthy now. You will loose a little in connection overheads.
Could you try one more test?
Reboot you PC and select 'Safe Mode with Networking'. Next use the Speed test that is available on this forum.

Also, please do ensure that you aren't using your Xbox or anything else at the time to download things on the Internet.

Re: drop in speed!!
Sorry, I missed that. The speed you got in Safe Mode (10Mb) shows that your PC software is at least partly to blame for your low speed. I would advise running some malware applications such as Malwarebytes and Superantispyware.
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com
SuperAntiSpyware Free Edition - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com
The free versions of these are sufficient.
It is also possible your AV or firewall is slowing you down. Try temporary disabling them and try the same speed test. If you are running a 3rd party firewall turn off the Windows one, this alone can make a big difference.

Re: drop in speed!!
Interesting...
How long was it connected before you obtained those stats?
You have quite a few CRC errors.
Perhaps Tom can confirm, but it looks like you definitely would benefit from a visit by a BTO engineer. I'm not sure which type, perhaps Tom or someone else can confirm this too.
Sky Customer Service can see those errors, but the Sagem doesn't show them.

Re: drop in speed!!
Back again
right lets explain what done so far.....
@ Scubbie.. the hub was connected for about 30min if that, i thought all those errors were a bit odd when i was tinkering with the hub the other night as i said was going to give it ago but then found out that i cant get the password etc.
@ Isitme... full scan complete, just had a few trojansGen.fraud and Gen.tool and load of adaware bits but all gone now Thanks, the results now are
download speed is 11136Kbps. Your upload speed is 760Kbps. thats of the sky speed test that is alot better
And the speedtest is looking better
All done in safe mode and windows firewall off. Will reboot and post stats in a mo
Thank you both so much for all your help upto this point

Re: drop in speed!!
Those stats confirm that there is something on your PC which is slowing you connection down considerably.
I know from personal experience that it would be better for someone to sit in front of your PC and go through things with you. It could be something simple such as having two AV programs running or some nasty that is hiding well.
It may also be something as simple as installing some software to fine tune your TCP/IP settings.
