DLM Complete - Slower Than Expected

The thought had crossed my mind that it might be the router as I've had it for 4-5 years now but unfortunatley I haven't got another one. Don't really want to invest in a new one either to be honest.

I've got the blue wire with white stripes in 2 and the white wire with blue stripes in 5.

You've got the setup right. Looks like you are going to have to settle for 15megs now.

Yeah that's kinda the conclusion that I've come to unfortunaltely.

Really appreciate your help. The only thing that still concernes me is the discrepancy between what I get via ethernet and what I get wirelessly.

Is this loss of speed normal or do I have router issues?

i notice you specifically, did not say that you don't care about the line stability, and you want it set to that speed...

then, maybe you are being giving the "brush-off".

also, you could also say how old your router is, and try to argue that maybe the cause of your speed settings, and ask for a more up to date router..ask them to test your current router, and if they say there is a problem with it, they can say you need a new router..

Change the channel from auto to something else* and then run another speed test.

* Log into the router > set-up in the top left > change the channel to something else > apply

Ok so I changed the chanel to 08 (just at random) and it looks pretty much the same:

Is this considered normal?


Might be worth one last email mentioning that I'm not bothered about line stability and the considerable age of the router. Hopefuly they'll get sick of me and just give in!!
