Re: Finally left Sky Connect...now what?
Sadly I'm still not connected. The connection on the sky router dropped, and it's still down on the Zyxel i'm trying to set it up on. I've rang plusnet and told them about the problem, they never mentioned it being incompatible with Zyxel routers so I'm hoping that's not the case. Apparently they're investigating the fault and will contact me again within 72 hours. I've tested different filters, cables, routers etc, so I'm guessing the problem is at their end or that the router's incompatible. I do have another router I could test, it's a D-Link DI 604, but there's nowhere for a DSL cable to plug in so I'm unsure of what I'm supposed to do, anybody got any ideas?

Re: Finally left Sky Connect...now what?
I should probably mention that the Zyxel manual says that once I've plugged everything in, I should open an internet explorer page and i will come to a pqge where I can enter my new details, but instead I just go to the "Internet explorer cannot display the webpage"

Re: Finally left Sky Connect...now what?
You will have to type the address of your Zyxel into the address bar of the router, this will open the router settings. If you don't know what it is, open a Command Prompt and type ipconfig /all. Hit Enter. The first address you see under your ethernet adapter listing will be the address of your router and the one shown against 'Gateway' is the address of your router.

Re: Finally left Sky Connect...now what?
Daft point, but you've not mentioned which model Zyxel you are using.
Is it an ADSL or ADSL2+ compatible router? If set to auto-sensing, an ADSL2+ router will work on an ADSL connection, but not the other way around.
Check what is the line connection that you now have is set up for with Plus Net.

Re: Finally left Sky Connect...now what?
Sorted! It was my computer itself causing the problems. I tried to set it up on one of my laptops and it all worked out fine. The computer is refusing to work on a wired connection for whatever reason, and this is what's causing the problem, but I've set it all up wireless now and everything's fine. Thanks for all the help guys.
