Calls making the internet drop
Occasionally, when the phone rings, the internet connection drops. I checked the status and it said downstream noise 2147483647 db!! This was while I was on the phone.
When I hung up, the noise was back down to 7db
I have tried new microfilters and have the same problem.
Any advice?

Re: Calls making the internet drop
Plug your microfilter into the test port of your master socket and connect your phone and router to it as normal.
Make a few calls and observe if noise margin jumps again.

Will try that. If it doesn't drop again, what would that mean?

Re: Calls making the internet drop
That would mean it's an internal wiring issue.

Re: Calls making the internet drop
If it does still keep dropping in the test socket then you have a high resistance fault, this is basically a poor connection somewhere that is failing under the extra strain of the phone being in use.
It could be that an engineer has accidently knocked your cable when doing some other work in the cabinet or at the junction box on the pole.
