I seem to now have 61.5 downstream attenuation, it was 62.5 before and my speed has gone up to a massive 2824kbps!!
Upstream has dropped from 608 to 253, but not bothered about that.
I'm sure it's far too good to be true and it can't last, can it?
If it stays anywhere near that, I'll be over the moon, however, I'll be pefectly content at somewhere around the 1.5mb I was getting before, anything higher is a bonus.

Re: Speed dropped by a third
Any way I can check?
Not that I'm bothered, so long as the speed stays somewhere around where it is I'm well happy

Re: Speed dropped by a third
Take a look at your router's page:
http://192.168.0.1/sky_router_status.html
Look in the ADSL Port section. Does it say MER or PPPoA or G.Dmt?
Also if you care to post your current stats, other members will be able to tell from the current speeds.

Re: Speed dropped by a third
Still saying MER as before.
Downspeed attenuation is 62.5 noise margin 7.2.

Re: Speed dropped by a third
If your rates are 2824/253, then it's probably adsl2plus.

Oh, ok
Not that I'm bothered, so long as it works and I'm getting that sort of speed, it can be whatever the he'll it wants

Re: Speed dropped by a third
There is no way to tell what you are on in the basic router settings, only in the advanced settings, which you cannot get on the router you have. You can only tell by the sync speeds.
You should really call them to have your upload increased. This does make a difference to your browsing speed, admittedly not much, but with a slow connection like yours, every K counts. It also helps when you want to send an email with a largish attachement.

Re: Speed dropped by a third
I should do really, I suppose.
I just don't want to do anything to jinx my new found high speeds
If the download stays steady at that speed for a while, I might risk a call and get them to adjust the upload. I can live with it for now though, if it becomes a major inconvenience I'll have to call them anyway.
