windows cannot find http://www.sky.com
I have been using sky broadband for a while but now when I click on the sky broadband icon after a short time a message appears : "windows cannot find http://www.sky.com". and I am unable to access the internet. The connection is OK and I can still send/receive emails. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

Re: windows cannot find http://www.sky.com
You are permanently connected to the internet, you do not have to use the Sky icon, which you will only have if you used the CD to set up your broadband. What happens when you click the Intenet explorer or other browser icon?
You are connected to the internet now using Sky broadband. How did you manage that?

Re: windows cannot find http://www.sky.com
Thanks for taking the time to reply. I used the Sky CD to set up my broadband. When I click on Internet Explorer I get a Data Execution Protection error that Windows has closed the program. I went into the DEP settings and excluded Internet Exporer which now works. I also excluded Sky broadband and it seems to be working now.
As to your question "You are connected to the internet now using Sky broadband. How did you manage that?" The answer is that I used another PC. Thanks again.

So you have 2 PCs and one is not working still? Has the non working PC ever been used with another ISP? Some use their own proxy settings etc.

Re: windows cannot find http://www.sky.com
I would advise you to download and run Malwarebytes and Superantispyware as it is possible malware has corrupted your system. Removing IE from the Data Protection is not a good idea, as it opens a security hole in your system. You PC may have been recruited as a zombie.
