First Day Connection Query
Just a quick question, had my sky broadband anytime activated this morning and im aware that for a day or so my speeds will be around the 4meg mark. After this time it should increase fingers crossed
but checking the connection status of the router it says ive connected to the exchange at the following speeds.
Modem Status Connected
DownStream Connection Speed 4095 kbps
UpStream Connection Speed 605 kbps
Being a total novice i would have assumed it would have connected at a higher rate but the speeds capped back during training or am i being even dumber than i thought possible

Re: First Day Connection Query
That is the speed that new lines start at.
DLM will run on your line over the next 10 days.

Re: First Day Connection Query
Hope this is what you mean?
I think also my opening question is wrong lol i meant to say what should it show as connected at the exchange? as its showing 4095 whereas i would have thought it would connect at the exchange at a higher rate. Apologies for being dumb here, seriously im not really this thick lol

Re: First Day Connection Query
With your attenuation you should probably get around 12Mb.

Re: First Day Connection Query
DLM usually resyncs in the early hours, so you should not notice any disconnection, once the line has settled. If you do, there may be a problem with your line. Give the connection some time to settle in, it is possible the engineers are still doing the final settings at the exchange.

Re: First Day Connection Query
Thanx for the replys guys, yeah the disconnection this morning must have been them still working on the change over as its been solid since.
Just a case now of sitting tight and waiting for the speed to increase and to see what speed the line can go to and remain stable, i would have hoped we could reach about 16 meg but anything more than 10 will do me.

Re: First Day Connection Query
You may get 16Mb but I think 12-14 is more likely. It really depends on the condition of your line and your internal wiring, if any.
