Internet extremely slow for days.
Anyone having internet issues over the last few days in the Stamford area?
I'm connecting OK, and showing a healthy synch of 10mbps but I'm having real trouble accessing the internet with pages loading, if at all, extremely slow. Anything I can do to pin down the issue? It's not PC related as I'm having the same problem with 3 PCs in the house.

Re: Internet extremely slow for days.
Sometimes these issues can be at the exchange, rather than the LLU provider.
There is nothing showing on the Sky Help Centre:

Re: Internet extremely slow for days.
It's been a week now and internet browsing is still pretty bad despite connecting at a stable 9Mbps. At the end of my tether so contacted Sky last night but they were next to useless. As far as they were concerned there was no issue at the exchange so not their problem. Went through all the usual checks but didn't improve anything. They did mention it could be the router but then went on to say they'll charge me £30 for a replacement.

Re: Internet extremely slow for days.
A simple way to rule in or out the router would be to extract the Sky sign-in details from your parent's router and plug a non-Sky router in.
Run this for a while and see if your service improves.
I am concerned over a couple of issues though:
* How are you connecting to the router? (i.e. WiFi or Ethernet Cable)
* What package are they actually on (i.e. Connect, Home Lite or Unlimited)? You will need to check their Sky account on-line to double check this
* Is there anything else connected at the same time to the router?
Whilst many members will say that they aren't reliable, could you run a few tests on Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test and post the results? It will provide an indication as to what you are getting from the connection.
With the stats that you posted, I would expect to see around 8Mb/s d/l and 0.8Mb/s u/l.

Re: Internet extremely slow for days.
That's my next step to bring down a couple of different routers next week to try out. I've got my old Sky sagem router and a trusty Billion which should rule in/out any issues with my parent's router.
I've tested both WiFi and ethernet so it's not a wireless issue. They are LLU so its nothing to do with the Connect service and there's nothing else, that I know of, accessing their service.
It almost looks like they're having the service throttled in some way.
