Re: Kindle and Sky -Sagen Router
Thanks for information - I did not try to change anything on Kindle - tried to change from WPA to WEP on router but it reverted back to that.
On the card I have and on router there is only one key - no default.
The Kindle connects wirelessly no problems at my friend's home and she uses BT. Will have to find someone with Sky and see if it is them that is problem!

Re: Kindle and Sky -Sagen Router
You don't want to change to WEP, there is no need to. The key on the card is the default, it will be something like ABCDEFGH. If you change the key in your router and have to reset it for any reason, this is what it will return to.
Try changing it and remember to click Apply.
I am not sure how the cases work on the Kindle, but you may have to make sure that you are entering the key in Upper case as the network key is case sensitive. Many have problems with this on the iPod.

Re: Kindle and Sky -Sagen Router
I read that you need to press the uppercase key then the letter then press the uppercase key again before the next letter and so on as the uppercase selection is for the next key press only (maybe pressing the uppercase key twice will set it to uppercase for all entries).

Re: Kindle and Sky -Sagen Router
Yes, have pressed upper key before each letter. Must now have input it about 30 times since yesterday!
Yes, the card and router only have one network key.

Re: Kindle and Sky -Sagen Router
Then that is the problem
TKIP is not supported by the Kindle.
All you should have to do to get it working is to change the encryption to WPA/WPA2.
Once changed all you should have to do is type in the network key and it should work.
Possibley the reason that it doesn't work
ZDNet reported on June 18th, 2010 that WEP & TKIP would soon be disallowed on wi-fi devices by the Wi-Fi alliance.Last edited by I_Hate_Sky_Awnsers; 06-04-11 at 06:12 PM.
