Advise on upping my bandwidth a bit :)

Hey friends, I think i've got the right thread.

So i've finally got the important stats from my router, I was told im supposed to get around 8-10meg down with almost a meg up. I didn't bother to use the pinger test since my router seemed to be a different revision so I just copied/paste directly on that status. So here it is:

To be honest 8-10Mb with an attenuation of 47 dbs, is a bit ambitious. If your noise margin stays up above 8db they may be able to give you another 2-300kbps, but I doubt you would get much more. You would be better running for a while to make sure your line is stable. It is possible your noise margin will drop significantly when the lines get noisier in the late evening. Check your stats around 9-10pm, if your margin is still above the default then, you may have a chance of a few more kbs, but no where near 8-10Mb.

I should add, if you try your router stats in the Test socket, you may see an improvement. Plug in there using only the ADSL cable and filter supplied by Sky and post your stats.

That's interesting, I'm more than likely wrong, but, I think A2pD might indicate that the new sagem is either BCM6328, or BCM6362 based - most likely 6328, same as the Sky d-link!

Last couple of weeks line connection has been 6587, now its back to what I had when I first rejoined sky. During that period, streaming videos sucked big time, websites were slooooow also.

Any feedback would be great cheers folks

If you reboot with that noise margin you will probably go back up. 190kbps is nothing really.

As said, you're already doing well with nearly 7mbps for your attenuation. A call to Sky won't really result in anything being done.
