This is a discussion on 2pm and still nothing ! within the Sky Broadband help forums, part of the Sky Broadband help and support category; this is my switch on day.. Tryed it at 9am...nope.... 2pm and i,m still surfing the net with my old ...

2pm and still nothing !
this is my switch on day..
Tryed it at 9am...nope....
2pm and i,m still surfing the net with my old isp 8meg connection.
i thought come the 31st, my old isp ( they know my switch over date ) would cut me off.....
or sky would switch on and eliminate the old isp 8 meg...
any info ?

You will only lose the other connection when the new one is activated, patience grasshopper
If you really can't wait you could call Sky and ask why you're not on yet. You never know, it may help.

Can take up to midnight, basically once you lose your old Internet connection plug in the Sky router

It requires a change of ports in the exchange so it is really down to when BTO can get to the exchange and make the changes. If you moved with a MAC your existing connection will not go down until the swap is made, unless you advised your previous ISP that you wanted to cancel from a specific date.

first problem guys...
trying to reset my default password for router.....keep getting this -
"sysOldPasswd is different from sysPassword, try it again."
thought the default password was "password" ??
and another big one -
local area connection doesnt have a valid ip configuration.
reset the router....it keeps logging me out/disconnceting me after about 10mins and getting above message

nope...booted off again -.
when i go into c/panel -networks / sharing i get -
"local area connection doesnt have a valid IP configuration."
"the default gateway is not avaiable"
"unidentified public network (where it should be home network )"
whats happening here guys ?
all lights stay green on router
