Still on ADSL2
May find GDMT is better in the long run but see how you get on-------------------------------------------

Re: Problems since W7 install
I asked the bloke if GDMT would be better and he said ADSL2 looked better from his end.
As you say i will monitor it for a week or so and then if its no better i will ring again and try it...
Does no harm to try try both options just hope they willing to do that for me without too much messing...Been lucky with decent staff up to now..

Re: Problems since W7 install
For longer lines I personally, when I worked for CST, found GDMT worked better in the long run. May give up 500kbps or so in speed but a better experience overall. That was just my opinion

Re: Problems since W7 install
Well ive just phoned them back as Internet keeps dropping out completely now..
They have altered settings again ..So was told to monitor for 24hrs..
I think when im nursing a Guinness hangover tomorrow im getting a ring back...
Will suggest the GDMT option..
The lady i spoke to said she could alter it from adsl2 to gdmt but didnt want to go over the guys from CST...
Whats weird is every time i try to run a globalspeed test to test my ping the connection is lost when it trys to test upload and i have to restart PC...
Can of worms comes to mind...

Re: Problems since W7 install
It has just been put back on what you were on previously, ie, Fast path on ADSL2. It failed then and will fail again. I did not think Sky used ADSL2 officially, there does not seem to be much point in it. It uses the same frequencies as G.DMT, although it uses some kind of compression to give a higher possible speed, there is no reason to use it where ADSL2+ is available. It is more likely to cause problems.
Call back and ask them to put it on G.DMT

Re: Problems since W7 install
Reboot your router, you may get a bit more and it will clear the errors you are showing. This will enable you to see how the new connection is performing..

Re: Problems since W7 install
Sorry to say problems have come back...Really stuck on whats the matter now...
Since last time i was on after numerous resets and calls to Sky im having intermittant problems again..
Connection is ok for 2 days then goes slow again ,but on router stats it never changes it down and up Upstream rate = 608 Kbps, Downstream rate = 5120 Kbps
Which should be ok but the net itself is soooo slow on the refresh of pages..
Im using google chrome as advised and its same as IE very slow on the refresh..
Weird thing is ive tested the download and its ok tested it on steam and other filed and they max out at 5Mb plus...
Rang yesterday and girl i spoke too got me to reset modem (not hard reset ) and clear my history also restart pc i did this and connection went back to good on web...Today its back to go slow..
I did ask the girl at the other end did she reset anything and she said no..
This is what i cannot work out now..Not sure if its modem or hardware on my side or W7 os...
Im going to have to calll again today...
heres stats as of today

Re: Problems since W7 install
You did loose sync to the exchange. But you have been in sync since the past 4 days. How are you connected to your pc? Wired\wireless? Have you got any other machines to check your internet on? This is to rectify whether the problem lies within your computer or your broadband.
