Re: Soon to be on Sky Unlimited
Just to confirm I have no extensions or other sockets, just a single NTE5. Already done exhaustive tests with test socket, no difference. Must be a load of interference externally

Re: Soon to be on Sky Unlimited
Correct, I'm afraid I don't have time to re-read every post, so I make this sort of error now and again.
If I were the OP I would put the ST back on and force the mode to G.DMT. If it gives a good increase in speed or noise margin, put the Sky router back on and phone Sky. Ask them to set the line mode to G.DMT
If there is not an increase, just call Sky tell them you are not happy with the speed, could they test the line.
If there is no extensions, there will be no ring wire.

Cheers people, I will put the ST585v6 back on at the weekend and 'experiment'.

Re: Soon to be on Sky Unlimited
Daft point, but I have seen faceplates that were the actual cause of a problem on this forum. Nothing to do with the wiring of extensions, etc.
So for the sack of confirming that everything inside the home is correct, it is always a good idea to eliminate it.

Re: Soon to be on Sky Unlimited
Hi Scubbie, I do have a couple of spare faceplates, I'll try those.
Thanks

Re: Soon to be on Sky Unlimited
Update. My testing finished on the 1st April.
Line appears to have been capped at 4096/800
I put my ST585v6 back on, No different really, no matter how much I tweak it, the sync is stuck at 4096. Upstream has gone down a touch since I rebooted.
I've set DMT to ADSL1 mode to see how it goes.

Re: Soon to be on Sky Unlimited
Just a possibly naive contribution here, but i thought you could go to the sky website and they'll give an indication of max speed possibe? For mine they say 4 Mb/s.

Re: Soon to be on Sky Unlimited
Not naive at all. You are correct.
Their estimates are, shall we say, often below what you should actually expect.
For the record, they would only provide me with an estimate of 4Mb, despite me knowing that previously I had 15.4Mb on ADSL2+ annex M & 17.1 Annex A. My current stats are in my signature.
