      advice please


      i've had many problems with my broadband over the past year.

      an unstable connection
      errors building up on my line etc to keep my line stable they needed to lower my speed.

      i got moved onto svbn a month or two ago and i was wondering if my speed can be increased at all.

      here are my current stats:

      Noise Margin 7.3 db 16.4 db

      when i reboot the router the download speed changes between 4100 - 5124.

      i don't have a bt master socket. ( i can't find one anyway)

      my broadband speed is estimated at 7MB+ but when sky set it high it becomes unstable and errors build up.

      Your sync is pretty low for the attenuation but your not going to get more with the noise margin. I advise you take off the faceplate of each telephone socket in your house until you find the one with a capacitor on it - this is your master socket providing your extensions are wired from here you can at the very least disconnect them temporarily and try your router there for improvements and repost up stats. I would recommend that you change it for an NTE5 style master socket with test socket however, if your extensions are wired from a junction box then you'll need to replace the junction box with an NTE5 to gain improvement.
