Re: extention cable from master cocket
There is one sure way to get the best performance your line can provide.
(1) Put the router as close to the master as possible, and if you have any extension wiring, use a filter faceplate.
(2) Use a short cable to connect router to filter/filter faceplate.
(3) Connect router to computer using network cable or power adaptors.

Re: extention cable from master cocket
Hi, I've got pretty much the same set up. The forum mod IsItMe to me to get one of these :-
Belkin Hi-Speed Internet Modem Cable RJ11M-M 7.6M: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo
Basically it's an extra long RJ11 cable. It's a lot better quality than a telephone line and you can have any length you want. Have the adsl filter plugged into the master socket first then the RJ11 cable running where the telephone extension would be, then into the back of your router.
I'm still waiting to try mine as the DLM is still running on my line.
