Re: Adding 2nd router to extend wifi range?
Just wanted to give a quick update on how things are.
Tried to setup my Router as a DMZ, as suggested by isitme, but alas more problems…. I kept getting the error message saying “Invalid DHCP client start ip address! It should be located in the same subnet of current of current ip address”
So I went back to the drawing board, and looked at isitme’s first suggestion, so here’s what I did:
Switched the modem wifi off
Changed the settings on the Router to IP Address 192.168.0.254, the gateway to 192.168.0.1 and turned off the DHCP. Left it as an AP with WPA encryption the same as what the modem was.
On the extender I made sure that that it was 192.168.0.200 and the gateway was 192.168.0.254. Also changed this setting to make it a wireless extender, with the Router as the reference.
Viola it all works lovely, for now anyway!!!!
Thanks to isitme for the fantastic advice.

Re: Adding 2nd router to extend wifi range?
Just to let you know that I have been having issues setting up an Edimax 7416APn as a universal repeater, it seems that if you put it on the same channel as the sky netgear router you get IP conflicts. I am having an issue getting the repeater to work wirelessly which is driving me crazy but I am going to start another thread.
