Broadband dropping out
Ive upgraded to sky unlimited because i am streaming music over the house via the sonos music system.
The problem is that when i use the phone out or incoming the line drops out on the broadband. I thinks this has always happened but notice it now cos the music stops playing around the house.
I have connected the router and phone direct into the test socket still had some background noise, tried several filters just in case when the router is switched off no noise eg hissing, buzzing and crakling.
I have a black sky router with SAGAM on it and getting uptp 16mbs.
Is this a sign of external problems or should i check more at home.
At the moment its back to how it was before router upstairs with a phone connected and downstairs sky+ box and a phone. Still the same if not worse line noise.
Any ideas please.

From what you describe you have a lot of noise on your line. Do you have everything connected to the phone line running through a filter, preferably with the filter plugged into the socket first then extensions and other devices plugged into it.
Take your stats from the normal position then remove the faceplate and plug it into the Test socket, link below and post both sets of stats.

Re: Broadband dropping out
Line was tested via master then the faceplate socket router and phone plugged in via filte,r several filters tried just in case and quite a bit of noise was heard.
Music is streamed over the net via Napstar.

Re: Broadband dropping out
When the router drops out when the phone is used, it is usually a problem with the external line but to rule out internal wiring you must try it in the Test socket.

Re: Broadband dropping out
Did try it in the test socket was more stable but still did drop out 60% of the times i tried it this morning.
Upstairs its 100% of the time, going to rewire extension cable upstairs with better cable.

In saying that, if it still drops out in the Test socket it looks like an external fault. Report it to your phone rental provider.

Re: Broadband dropping out
You say they are from the master socket, we need to see them from the TEST socket, this is uncovered when you remove the lower faceplate from the master and will isolate all the existing wiring.
