When is the 20Mb upgrade coming?
As above?
I got the email from Sky a good couple of months ago, which stated by the end of September and I've heard nothing since. Checking the Sky site says I'm on 20MB, but the connection details says "Service unavailable".

Re: When is the 20Mb upgrade coming?
Post your router stats and we'll tell you if you been upgraded or not.
What was your connection speed originally?

Re: When is the 20Mb upgrade coming?
If you still have a single figure attenuation you should be on 20Mb.

Re: When is the 20Mb upgrade coming?
Router stat's have not changed since I upgraded to Max a good 2 years ago. I'm literally across the main road from the exchange.
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 10929 kbps 764 kbps
Line Attenuation 12.0 db 7.1 db
Noise Margin 7.1 db 17.0 db

Re: When is the 20Mb upgrade coming?
You have a low speed for your attenuation which should hit 20mb.
Get the stats again but connect the router to the test socket, chances are that your internal wiring is dragging the speed down.

Re: When is the 20Mb upgrade coming?
The router is connected to the master socket. I have used the test socket previously when I had an issue back when I upgraded to Max and it made no difference. It's a new build flat so the wiring is all OK.
Usual sync speed is 10900-11500 range depending on time of day. It's a solid connection and fast enough so no real complaints.
Surely Sky would have emailed to say the upgrade was complete?

Re: When is the 20Mb upgrade coming?
It won't currently matter to you if the upgrade is done or not, unless you were topping out the 16mb limit you wont reach the 20mb one now.
In effect for you there is no change.
That still does not explin your poor speed considering your sync. Post the router stats from the test socket and let us see.

Re: When is the 20Mb upgrade coming?
Yes, please humour us and use the test socket. Also make sure sure that only your router is connected via it's supplied cable and micro filter. Be sure that you're not accidentally plugged into a Sky box telephone cable splitter.
With your attentuation you should have already got 16mbps connection but as you dont the upgrade to 20mbps will have no impact for you.

Re: When is the 20Mb upgrade coming?
You were moved to ADSL2+ over 2 years ago and your speed at that time should have risen to 16Mb. It is a pity you did not post your updated stats then, your problem could have been solved long ago. Can you please do as requested and plug into your TEST socket and post your stats. This is the only way we can tell whether your problem is internal or external.

Re: When is the 20Mb upgrade coming?
Look at it this way.
You have a car that can only go at a maximum 70mph, now the speed limit on the motorway is increased to 100mph, you don't gain anything becase you car is still only able to do 70mph.
Same thing applies to your broadband, the limit has increased but as you can not currently get there it has made no difference to you.
The good news for you is that you SHOULD be able to get there and if you do as we ask you will!!!
