Sky MAX is now only giving me 4mb down!!!

just curious then why i have been downloading at 700k and now only 430k!!!
i have been with sky 6 months and the drop in speed has just happened in the last 2 days

As your sync speed remained the same and your noise margin rose, I think your line is capped. This has probably been done automatically by DLM to stabilise your line, not manually by Sky.
There is not much you can do until you locate your Master socket. It is usually the first one on the line where it enters your house. With a good line you will get 6-7Mbs, no where near 16Mb I'm afraid.

Somewhere you are now getting noise on your line, it could be an internal wiring issue, a dodgy filter or even an ecternal line issue but at the moment you line cannot take any more.

If you have a test socket try it, if not then it may be worth investing in one and replacing your existing master socket.

If you don;t have one and you don't mind playing with the wiring, you could just open up the master and remove the extensions from it, this will then give you a best case test for your internal wiring.

If you use the phone and only press one nimber and listen, can you hear ony pops or crackles, you should only get a faint humm?

i emailed sky saying that i was unhappy about the slow speed, and surprise surprise i got an emil back saying that they had reconfiguered my line to its maximum stable capacity, so im now back to 7mb!!
looks like they are capping after all!!!

Chances are it was done automatically by DLM, they may have suspended it or just reset it, you will need to keep an eye on it because if there was some noise on the line that caused it, it may return.

Can you post your stats? I think they may have moved you to G.DMT to stabilise your line.
