Re: (Unofficial) FAQ - Sky Connect Users
in many cases people were given long term discounts. If you take mine as an example I have got another 9 years left (in writing)

Re: (Unofficial) FAQ - Sky Connect Users
Well Steve, March is here i.e. the month when you said/hoped things would improve with Sky Connect. Still the same appalling service at my end, in fact I would say if anything the service is getting worse, if that's possible?

Re: (Unofficial) FAQ - Sky Connect Users
Hello all,
Firstly thanks for great forum and for all the help on it.
So after experiencing terrible internet after 5pm on Sky connect and reading everything I started to collect speed tests, showing that during the day I get about 3742kbps then after 5pm I get 300-370kbps.
I phoned sky this morning and was fobbed off basically and couldn't get past them.
They said I was probably being slowed down because i use more than 1.3gig a day, irrespective of 40GB per month, its if you use more than 1.3 a day. Not that they can tell you exactly it seems.
i said the internet was unacceptable and unusable, they said it should be enough the use email/ web browsing.
They said because I was using an extension cable that was why it was too slow and I should connect to the main socket. This isn't possible as I cant use the computer in my lounge anyway.
And that was that.
So I suppose I complain but not sure this is going to get my anywhere - I thought I'd got everything I needed to get out of the contract but it appears not? My contract doesn't finish till end May (not too long) and I will move somewhere else then, maybe before.
If anyone has any nuggets though let me know.
Cheers all.
G

Re: (Unofficial) FAQ - Sky Connect Users
If you have a look around you will find there are many who have left Connect due to it being a deplorable service. It does not matter how much you use you will still be throttled during the peak hours.
You may indeed get a better speed by plugging into your Test socket, but that is not the main problem. Phone up and ask for your MAC and find an ISP who does not strangle the connection to such an extent.

Hi have a look at this http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/sky-u...-2-months.html. when you speak to Sky tell them you know about the Traffic Management of the connect package which is a Bt max re-badged product and you know that they cannot help you. Ask the op to pass you on to CST (Customer Service Team) that should work.
