Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
sparkey I know this might be a daft question but Next door is on connect right. I don`t know what Bt BB is like except a lot of them seem to be moving to Sky.
I am the same log on check emails do a speed test then Sky User Forum. 7kbps I thought mine was bad 38kbps what I don`t understand there is no logic to throttle that low unless someone is using a lot, or if you don`t use much the more sky can take. The more I see and read it reallythe brains I think if someone from the media might find the connect issue interesting. but I don`t think Sky News will use it

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Well had a shock earlier.
I loaded up the router page and was greeted by a 2500kbps download speed
So I did a speed test and was getting 1700kbps download and I have just done the BT TEST
And the results are below
Now Sky are due to cut me off on the 13th of next month and ADSL2+ is supposed to be enabled in my area on 31/03/09
So at the moment I can't really lose. If Im getting speeds like this and ADSL2+ does not arrive at the above date then Ill stay with sky as I actually got some Gaming done earlier with no problems at all.
If ADSL2+ does arrive then I should be able to get Sky max all being well.
And on another good note my Broadband is only costing me £10 a month instead of £17
So if I stay Im saving money.
Ill be doing a few speedtests now and seeing what it's like each day until the 31/03/09

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Smiffy use Samknows Broadband - Broadband Availability Checker
Find out what you can get at your exchange and then have alook around.
Ive looked at Bt but I can get it cheaper at other places and even use one thats a month to month contract I just need my own router.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Quick question regarding the below
Your exchange is planned to have ADSL2+ by 31st March 2009. Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a potential ADSL2+ broadband line rate of 1Mbps or greater.
As Ive checked a few sites but they still say it's not ready yet until the 31/03/09
Thanks in advance

Yes I was looking for that before thanks. All I am saying is new connect Customers are seeing
and being told
Our Base product allows 2GB of downloads per month, Mid and Connect offer 40GB, and Max is unlimited, (No Fair Use Polciy). Do not worry if you exceed your allowance, we will not cut you off or charge you extra. If you regularly exceed your limit, we will suggest you upgrade to a product more suited to your online needs.
If I read that I would join connect straightaway The things like upgrade Connect I wishSky connect is Different so they should not include it with Base, Mid, and Max, policies
on this page connect is isolated from Sky/Easynet LLU packages
sparkey I don`t understand that at all maybe someone can give a view on
7kbps but neighbour no speed drop post 958 & 970
