Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
I have just been on the phone to Sky CST Team and after doing several speedtest using speedtester.bt.com, I have been told that the reason my connection drops speed around 17oohrs is in fact because of traffic shaping so no matter what anyone else is being told it does happen.
My connection at the moment is a healthy 7mb Sync is 8048, but after 5 it drops below 1.5mbs and is normally about 832k
I do not or never have download illegal software, music or films but it seems I am being punnished because of people who do.
Sky have said that they can issue a MAC but went on to say "that you may be charged for your outstanding contract term( 4 months at the moment). I was told that all the T&Cs are, yes you guessed it, in the smallprint.
This problem only started about 2 months ago before that I had no issues with speed at all.

Hi Yes I know how you feel I have had this problem for quite awhile now lowest speed between 5pm and midnight has been D135k U86k I usually get 3days of normal speeds and 4days of throttle which can be anything usually on an average 1.2Mbs if you see below it takes you to sky BB and then click on connect and not once do they mention anything about Traffic Management which has to be unfair
This does not help because you cannot upgrade connect,
Our Base product allows 2GB of downloads per month, Mid and Connect offer 40GB, and Max is unlimited, (No Fair Use Polciy). Do not worry if you exceed your allowance, we will not cut you off or charge you extra. If you regularly exceed your limit, we will suggest you upgrade to a product more suited to your online needs.
by the amount of posts 848 and the number of views 19,428 and Sky do know the problem exists because they are causing it now by bringing more and more Customers on to connect which cannot sustain the amount of connect Customers already using Sky connect package I do not know how you joined connect but i made inquiries about Sky BB and the agent said will ring back when Sky are moving their BB into the area had a telephone call saying I could get Sky BB now and it is call connect while awaiting Sky to move into Washington Exchange. still on connect anyway sorry you got nowhere with CST hope it gets better for you
Come on Sky reader
