Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Broadband package: Sky Connect
Normal Speed: 5mb
Current throttled speed: .5mb
Average usage per day: A lot
What does this throttling affect? everything, cant ftp stuff at more than 30KB/s
gone past my years contract so might switch out to an isp without stupid throttling.

IAmNotTheEnemy
Yes I know took sky talk already sky BB line could hold up to 3.5Mbs bt said 1500k when took talk so sky asked bt to send out an engineer after the second engineer both went back
to bt with same results 4.3k bt said can only hold 1500k the funny part is sky tech ran tests
concluded line was capable of 4224k actual 3.5Mbs bt speedtester ip profile for line 3.5
actual throughput 3268 then bt still say 1500k then at 1530hrs cut a long story short dropped out to 160k you seen the post had two letters from bt asking do I have a problem with my service provider one telephone call same service provider
I told had no problem at all the only problem I have is with BT
I will not leave on principle

What speeds are you now getting in the day outside of throttling time?
Are you are getting decent speeds and bad during throttling time?
by the way I think we should now rename peak time to throttle time lol

IP Profile for line 3500
IP Actual Throughput 3280

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Hi! Could you enlarge on your post. Is this a definite fact that SKY are to increase
capacity in the 'near future' for the Connect product?
The situation is really dire in the evening after around 6pm, in fact it is virtually useless if you wish to step up, even slightly, from basic emails and general surfing of web sites.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
"Definite fact"? How do you read that post as stating that Sky is increasing their capacity for Connect?
If you go back to the post you quoted you'll see I was responding to the previous post and was just pointing out that if or when Sky do need to buy more capacity there's quite a long lead time before it becomes available.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
If you look at the amount of Customers Sky connect are getting there is no option but to increase capacity. I think It depends on how long it takes bt to provide the extra capacity anyway the sooner the better
