Hi you are right about Sky`s short long fibre string and of cause copper. The reason I put string in is because that is what you used to get throttled with, How can they call it connect? I leave you all to ponder on that thought

If it is improving across the whole of the connect package that is great but we have to wait and see heres hopping

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
I must say the official statement from Sky on the issue was very illuminating, they really keep you in the picture don't they.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
So THAT's the problem?!! I was getting consistant speeds of 3.1 to 3.5 megs and couldn't work out why, every so often, it would drop to 1.5 megs!! (Didn't think to notice what time of day it was!)
Normal speeds: 3 Megs
Throttled speed: 1.5 Megs
Usage: 15 Gigs per month
I'm getting really cheesed off with Sky. They're not the cheapest, their customer service is rubbish and now they think they can ration their bandwidth!!
I'm seriously looking to go over to TalkTalk.

point me in the direction of another package for £17 that gives you 40GB usage...£17 is very reasonable if you ask me...

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
fair play, but would you really touch TT with a barge pole???...
reading the legal, you HAVE to be on TT line rental to get BB and be on myTalkTalk...if not, it's an extra £15 a month...-------------------------------------------

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
You HAVE to be on Sky TV to get Connect
If it came to a choice between Connect and TalkTalk it would be TT every time. My next door neighbour uses them and although his speed is lower than mine, he has not once lost his connection or slowed down. 3 of their family play WoW almost constantly.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
I've not lost connection either - ever...
end of the day, it's all relevent - there's always a catch!! yes, Connect has issues but they've barely affected me so I'm not fussed...IF i was a gamer then yes I'd probably be a bit miffed but as my connection what I need it to do I'm not gonna rock the boat...-------------------------------------------
