Not sure whether BT would run a copper line, looking at the exchange it is LLU, maybe worth checking if there is space on the sky equipment before going down the copper router.
Just not 100% sure whether BT would do that though. Hopfuly someone else maybe able to give the answers.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
There is plenty of space but Sky cannot use their equipment on fibre optic line. Took me over 6 weeks to get Sky Connect. BT informed me THEY can supply me with BB as per the following e-mail from them but I do not wish to go with BT.
Quote:
I am sorry to learn your concern over issue in ordering broadband connection to your premises and also for the delayed response. You were informed that the telephone line is fibre cabled and does not support broadband connection. You would like this issue to be resolved for you to enable broadband connection on the line.
Please note that I have run a test on the line and found that it can support broadband connection. If you wish to order for BT Total Broadband package, please contact our Sales department. They can be reached on the number 0800 800 150 and by choosing the option 3. They are working from 7:30 hours to 22:00 hours from Monday to Saturday and 9:00 hours and 18:00 hours on Sunday. I appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter.Last edited by nandoh; 14-02-09 at 12:50 AM. Reason: mis spelling

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
They doon't but the do have control over the amount of capacity the buy and they are currently not buying enough to cover the current userbase usage.
Too many people using too much bandwidth, Sky are not prepared to spend money to buy more or remove the heavy downloaders.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Sky probably base their usage requirements on something under 6Gb, which I saw somewhere is the national average. Unfortunately, Sky do not seem to be able to trace who is going way over their allowance, so everyone suffers. There are some users, who when they realize they can get away with murdering their connection, do just that. Hopefully Sky will update their equipment so they can check who is overdoing it and turf them out. When that happens I expect they will complain about being victimised.
