Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
I gave up and migrated to BT option 3. Getting 2.8 mb downstream and 0.4 mb upstream constantly. I can now play World of Warcraft without any d/c's and full graphics and sound, have skype and ventrilo working. whilst my partner can watch utube again. Prior to this I was getting 0.3 mb downstream and 0.4 mb upstream between 17.00 and 23.00 every nnight since Christmas. Odd as it is the same stuff as used with Sky.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Getting MAC but got warned that as im inside 12 month contract they "may" make charges to cover "reasonable costs
Sky Broadband is variable and our prices, Products and the Sky Broadband Extras can change, even during your Minimum Term. However, if we reduce the level of service provided by your chosen Product and you reasonably consider that you have been disadvantaged by this you will have a right to move to another Product or end this Contract. You can also end the Contract during your Minimum Term if we increase your Sky Broadband Payment more than once, or by more than 10% or the annual increase in the UK Retail Price Index, whichever is the greater. If you wish to end this Contract in these circumstances, then you need to let us know within one calendar month of notice of the change (Conditions 7(a), 11(c) and 11(d)).

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
will be interesting to see how much BT traffic shape on their own option 3.
Did you get it for the "special" price which was something like £7.99 for the 1st 3 months then £9.99 for the rest of the minimum contract?
I had a letter with that offer on last week,I'm a PC, and Windows 7 Backup saved my sanity when BitDefender imploded !!!

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
They did during 1700-0000 since the start of the week... but strangely, the ports I use are working again and it's 1743! Maybe Sky was doing some work on their network, or they realised they/someone FUBAR'd their end, or they received loads of complaints. Whichever the case, I'm still moving to another ISP
Contention in my area is starting to be a problem as well on BT IPstream

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
At 21.30 i tried to download a JPEG (29KB) of my grandchild and i must congratulate Sky on their 21st century technology......20 minutes later and 2 cups of tea later, i finally received it. If Sky Connect is going to get as slow as Royal Mail will there be anyone left on the Connect product to notice or care anymore?
Promptly at 22.04 my connection was so fast i almost had a coronary but by 22.09 i gave up and did exactly what Sky intends me to do....switch off my pc and router and stupidly pay £17.99 a month, thereby subsidising those lucky enough to be on faster speeds.
