Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Newnet actually have some unbundled exchanges, most in Hampshire I think, if you are in that area they might be worth a look.- 24meg broadband (24 meg) from NewNet
Their other packages are all BT's ADSLMax, so moving could be a case of frying pan to fire.
It is interesting Newnet want £0.69 a Gb for extra usage. It gives you an idea how lowly Connect is priced. No wonder Sky have got themselves in trouble.Last edited by Isitme; 09-02-09 at 08:31 PM.

Steve....you're a great support....along with anybody else who has replied to my posts....it's a pity SKY aren't as concerned.
No....being disabled has no effect on the kind of service i receive as regards to my broadband. Apparently the speed slowdown is absolutely nothing to do with SKY, or BT come to that, i slammed down the phone when the Sky rep hinted that maybe i was brain damaged in some way and had problems understanding broadband delivery in the U.K.
There's no sign of LLU at my exchange yet and a search of broadband providers threw out the usual suspects: Virgin, Sky & Tiscali...oddly not AOL. Four years ago i did have satellite broadband but that company seems not to exist anymore.
Thanks to these forums i've heard about New Net so i think i'll migrate over to them when my Sky contract is at an end....though i will have to get some guarantee that i'm not just signing up for yet another rebranded BT product.
Thanks for your time & concern.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Newnet do supply a re-branded product unless you are in Hampshire, but as the Benny Hill fan (
) points out, give a far better service. Although the amount of bandwidth is restricted, the connection is not throttled. They charge an economic price and can pay BT for it.
Plusnet are probably worth a look. I was with them for years and had very little to complain about. They have a very good support forum and seem to get complaints to BT solved much quicker than Sky.

That's because they are BT, well owned by them anyway
