Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?

Has this just happened or have you this problem for awhile

It's been happening for a few days now, just never got round to checking on here until now.


Up until now the speed on connect has been great, so I wouldn't mind if they only knocked a few mbps off, but these speeds are just ridiculous.

I think judging by the increase in posts on this, and the fact that Sky had a network / code freeze from 16th December until 5th January, Connect has to have had a configuration change sometime this last week.

It is bad again today, I get throttled so much on WoW the game thinks I have lost connection and boots me to the login screen...3:22pm - But i presume on a sunday they class this as peak time....

As above WoW is just recycling me back to the login screen, spoke to TS who said basically there is nothing they can do if I am being throttled, fed up for paying for a sub standard service that Sky seem to have no control over.

I will be seeing if I can get myself released from my contract asap.

I used to be on sky mid until i moved address, I'm now on connect . My connection has been really flaky this week. My pings would raise to around 120, not good as I just get kicked from the server. Do we have any ETA on this issue? It will most likely be a BT issue.

I spoke too soon also, its been normal for the last two days (ie cr@p) wouldnt mind if i was a mass leecher but not being able to log on to psn is shocking

Any advice on how to tackle this, do we all need to rant at Sky?

Moving is not an option for me no LLU on my exchange

Ranting at Sky won't do anything - it's the fact Sky don't pay for loads of capacity...Connect is not something that's meant to be long term as ideally Sky would LLU every exchange and have everyone on their own gear...

Apparently Zen have a better capacity but that's just what I've read...

Not really as we are all trying to find the problem, and push things on from there.

They told me two years ago when i signed up they would have there gear in my exchange within 12 months

And at that point it would be free, i dont see the point in taking it on the chin and letting it be as is.

Then move as Sky haven't even officially admitted to it yet - other than to quote the FUP part of the T&C's...

You're better of going elsewhere if you use your connection in ways where the shaping affects things. For me, it's not an issue as I don't rely on the speed of my connection - just so long as it works!!

In your case, you were BLATANTLY lied to as checking samknows shows no LLU presence and nothing planned...whether you can argue that in retrospect is another matter...

The only way to get Sky to notice is for ALL Connect customers to leave...
