Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Hello chaps, no word yet back from Sky from when I called them Friday night, I have been escalated to Tier 2 and just awaiting a call back potentially today. Will update if I manage to use my northern charm to extract any useful info.
Steve, you mention connect is improving, is that based on anything other than forum posts? I do partly agree that I'm now getting 2mb on downloads currently (tho it is Sunday morning) but would be intrigued if you had any quantitative proof!
cheers all
paul

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
I've not called Sky...I know my line is in good condition so don't want any monkeys playing around with it since I can 100% guarantee call centre staff will not have been briefed on this (and if i'm wrong and they have, then they'll have been told to not utter a word about it).
Just for ref, I'm currently zooming along at 542kbps

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Here we are 6.20pm ON A SUNDAY and my download speed is 768kb. This is not an acceptable service from Sky.
To enjoy the internet in a normal manner is impossible, just to look at a favourite You Tube item is a nightmare and totally forget watching a 'live' tv programme.
This is really unacceptable and MUST be rectified asap or Sky's broadband 'good name' will diminish in ultra quick time whether it be LLU or the 'poor relation', Connect.
Can't wait until tomorrow (am) and experience a proper connection of 6.7mb Plus.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Hi Paulo
Just based on forums posts. After all we are the ones getting the speeds. The forum
and users can see at a glance where areas are improving and areas are slowing
plus will give Sky more information to work on.
Have ran test on Bt speedtester at 1740 mine has gone down was getting about
3Mbs now down to about 1Mb but it is better than 350k. I have noticed that Sky
have done over the last few days 11 NTPs (Network Time Protocol) and LCPs
(Link Control Protocol) sync never dropped out Router Statistics time still increasing
only thing changed was the downstream from 4226k to 4064k I still think it is going to
be sometime before the connect issue is resolved but only Sky Knows.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Broadband package: Sky Connect
Normal Speed: 4.5mb
Current throttled speed: 0.8mb-2mb
Average usage per day: Quite abit, approx 150mb a day-ish (used broadbandchoices.co.uk download monitor to find this)
What does this throttling affect? Browsing, Generally Slowed Everything down
