Completely agree with you about Sky Connect. If you had found this site before you joined it you would have had second thoughts.
when i was on 56k dial up service in the early 90s, my connection speed was 4 times faster than sky connect.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
There seems to be a lot of complaints on the forum about their sky broadband connect. But i am very happy with my connection.Maybe it is because i live in a good area to be connected to Sky.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
This throttling has caused me to move ISP to one that can provide me with an Unlimited package, as my rural area cannot support sky 'unlimited' (although im sure it's not)
You've throttled me to a disgusting 5kb/s for the past week during peak hours, for going over it once last week. My normal speed is 700kb/s.
Not acceptable in this day and age, you've lost a customer..

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Your profile indicates that you are on Sky Broadband Connect. This thread is dedicated to this product.
Sky Broadband Connect is NOT an unlimited product. It as a 'monthly' allowance of 40GB, which is split into about 1.3GB daily chunks. If you go over this, then Sky throttle you to the stone age. Please do move to another ISP and let Sky know why you have moved. As far as I know, the connect package is the worst package currently available.
The most favoured ISP at the moment is PlusNet, but please do your research and check out any forums for any products that you are considering.
Don't forget to get your MAC code too.
PlusNet Fibre since Jan 2021
Previously Sky Fibre & Sky BB since 2010.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
I would second that and don't even look at O2 unless your in a LLU area for them.
With Plusnet you get what it say's on the tin if you read it.
And if you can afford it Zen Internet are the best.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Broadband package: Sky Connect
Normal Speed: 7mb
Current throttled speed:0.6-1.2
Average usage per day: A lot
What does this affect? Browsing / Gaming
this is happening between 5/6pm - up to midnight every evening
weekdays i get speeds of 6-7, weekend daytime is about 3-4.
i have been told i'm not being throttled because of fair usage policies as i havent gone over.
sky have sent an engineer (bt openreach)who reports everything is fine.
still trying to get to the bottom of the problem, meanwhile i'm a gamer who cant game online with my friends in the evening and weekends when they're not working because of this. wondering what i;m paying my bill for
i don;t believe i'm going over the daily usage as its been a daily problem for a couple of weeks now, and there have been days where the internet hasn't been used at all during the day and i still have the problem
