Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
I did the test and got the results of:
Download speedachieved during the test was - 1367 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 400-2000 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :1856 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 1500 Kbps
Now this morning my speed is fine but last night it was 200kbps because I was being throttled.

Hi You say pointless if you cannot be bothered to help yourself that is pointless. The thing is Sky will throttle or severely traffic shape NOW anyone who miss use their connection. As there are thousand of connect Customers who are living in rural areas and are not having any issues at all. Do you use extensions. Have you a filtered faceplate. Is the router next to the main Telephone socket. These all can cause issues. You talk about throttling. Throttling when you only get 1kbps that`s throttling. Also you were more than likely told that. The connect package is a stop gap before your exchange is Sky LLU Unbundled. As you have been advised if you do not like the connect package then leave. There are plenty other ISPs to choose from.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
It's not up to me to move, it's not my broadband. We don't abuse it, we hardly ever download. And people do have problems, read this forum.
I don't care if companies throttle, I mostly browse and read anyway. BT throttled. But what bothers me is that Sky's throttling doesn't just make things go slow, it actually ****s up our connection, you've practically no Internet connection at all. And they throttle randomely round the clock (not just from 5 to 12)
And online gaming is unplayable at any time during the day because as soon as I do any sort of uploading via gaming or to sites like youtube my connection is traffic shaped

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Well stop wingeing about it at every opportunity. You sound like an old violin and it is all I've seen you post about. Let the person who can do something about it know that there is a problem. If they don't want to fix it, then don't let it concern you anymore.
Get yourself a Pay-as-you-go 3G dongle and use that for your connection. There are many different ones available with each of the major networks.
It is also possible to share the dongle from a PC (or MAC) so that you can use it for gaming.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Do you work for SKY? We were conned by SKY, they never said anything about our browsing being unbrowsable 90% of the time, did they? They didn't.
And I know how people can become weirdly attached to certain companies, you call them fanboy/girls.
There are plenty of sites like youtube out there, say I wanted to sign up to Sky Max but I'm not sure if they throttle or not, show me that they don't throttle, do a test after half 5 or whatever, download via torrent with a lot of seeders, record with a cam & upload it.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
When you join anything or subscribe to any one you are supposed to read the terms and Conditions. There you would have seen Sky Terms and Conditions - Broadband and if you scrolled down to SKY BROADBAND CONNECT NETWORK MANAGEMENT POLICY. You know nothing about connect. As I said. You talk about throttling. Throttling when you only get 1kbps that`s throttling. Look at this link http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/sky-b...test-blog.html My exchange was Unbundled in November and I have had no issues at all. look at the link http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/sky-b...-exchange.html After My exchange was Unbundled I thought it would be a good Idea to keep connect Customers up to date on Sky`s Unbundling. Look at link http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/sky-b...-samknows.html
It's not up to me to move, it's not my broadband. We don't abuse it, we hardly ever download. And people do have problems, read this forum.
