Hi,
I called sky for the details, they said, the flag for download limit is up. and i have a tracker as well, which only says 20 GB in 16 days.
This is very annoying.
speedtest.net is not even responding, its that slow.
i just checked in broadbandchoices.com for my postcode(ab217au) and only good option that i see is this.
Please help me out.Last edited by pavancpk123; 24-07-10 at 09:35 PM. Reason: more information

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Hi, Thank god for finding this forum and this topic in particular!
I though it was because I upgraded to SKY HD at the start of last week that this was happening but honestly it has been ridiculous over the past week.
I rang up last night and was speaking to a guy in their Indian call centre and there was nothing he could do apparently.
The worst thing is I run my business from home. In the day the speed is fine but the evenings I cant even send emails with attachments or visit websites that I have to for my work.
Im not sure how to play this really! I dont know if leaving is an option? How has everyones experiences been with dealing with this?
Thanks for any help/advice in advance guys!
Dai

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Just get your MAC code and go, tell them the service is useless and you are not prepared to continue with your contract as you consider the service so poor it is un-useable.
Don't mention your business use as Sky do not allow this.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Do not mention working from home as Sky don't support it and you'll won't get any help from them.
Just say that you can't visit websites and stream video which Sky guarentees.
Plenty of forum members have apparently managed to get their MAC code and have left penalty free due to connect not being fit for purpose.
With the Summer holidays being here I have noticed a big drop in connection speeds and I am on O2 LLU which is normally fantastic.
If you move you need to find either a LLU supplier at your exchange (like o2) or a decent ISP who resells the BT product with a lot more bandwidth, Zen and plusnet have been mentioned.I'm a PC, and Windows 7 Backup saved my sanity when BitDefender imploded !!!

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
What I don't understand is why people put up with it, they have been suffering this problem for a long time now and it is obvious now that they intend to do nothing to sort it.
Vote with your feet, it is an easy step to get your MAC and move on to pastures new.
