Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
If you have Unlimited Sky Talk you do not pay for any calls to any Sky support section.
also you seem to be saying, zen will not improve me that much?
On the KANA form I would choose the dropdown boxes and select, Complaints, Sky broadband complaints, then Technical. Put your complaint in the Description box. You are restricted to 1000 characters in the initial report, but you will be able to expand on this by email when you get a reply back.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
I moved from BT to Sky a few months ago and wish I didn't try and save a few quid. I am now locked into a 12 month contract. I logged in yesterday to my Sky account and can see I am on £17 per month despite me asking for the base broadband at £0 and then being told I could only have the £5. I do not know where this £17 came from.
The sales chap was decent and essentially halfed that cost by fiddling with my TV package. However the technical chap was pretty much next to useless and suggested I had a virus. He just didn't listen when I said I got 6mb in the morning and less than 1mb in the evening. I asked him if I was on the optimum package at ANY cost and he said yes. I really regret moving to Sky, I had a constant 3mbps with BT.
* Broadband package: Don't know - how do I find out? I thought I was on their best deal.
* Normal Speed: 3mb consistently with BT
* Current throttled speed: 0.8mb
* Average usage per day: Checking email in the morning, go to work during the day. Do some RDP and Skype in the evening (I am a software engineer) but otherwise I avoid big downloads.
* What does this throttling affect? I can't even have a Skype conversation with my work colleagues in the evening without suffering poor line quality - told this to Sky, they said it was probably a virus. This is affecting my work.
I'm really very cheesed off with this and wish I did not sign up to Sky Broadband at all. Can anyone advise me on how to deal with it? I just want a fair broadband connection at a fair price.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Ring Sky and ask for a MAC code, they will give it to you and people are being allowed to leave without any penalty at the moment due to the poor service, I doubt Sky will want to make this too public.
REMEMBER, DO NOT CANCEL, do not even mention cancelling, you require a MAC code as you want to move from their unusable service to another supplier. If you can get LLU from another supplier then that should be the best option but post your intentions first for advice.

Hi you are on Connect thats the only Broadband package for £17.00 If you are doing a speed tests do a Bt speed test information on http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/sky-b...ed-tester.html But as Smithy99 says look for LLU at your exchange

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
It looks like you have had line problems and your speed has been dropped. Reboot your router, it may sync a bit higher. If it doesn't, you will have to phone Sky to get them to ask BT to reconfigure your line. Sky can do nothing for Connect lines, they have to go to BT who are not always too co-operative.
You would get 20 Mb with an LLU connection. If you have O2 on your exchange, jump at them. No matter what you do with Connect, you will still suffer throttling.
