it states in the T&C's that Sky will traffic shape in the evenings AND will also enforce the FUP - meaning if you exceed 1.4GB in a day you'll be monitored for the next day. if you do it again, you'll be throttled on top of the traffic shaping...this is in the contract signed by you so failing to pay will go against you...

however, i agree that it needs to be sorted as i'm also being hit for no reason (well, perhaps last week was justified but not now!!) and we're all trying to find out what's going to be done...

however, shouting at tier 1 - who have no access to anything - will achieve nothing...

Have to say that I have never ever got anywhere near 1.4gb download in a day but I am getting hammered EVERY evening after 6pm and do agree mostly with coreservers comments that we are being given short shrift here.

However, thanks for your input to the forum. Hopefully things will get sorted quickly or SKY BB's name will go down the tubes in double quick time.

just to update ...... i had a decent day on monday ... day after i posted here ....had a good ps3 session most of the day so maybe they are on top of it.

They're just not geared up to communicate with any outside party, formally or informally. Actually, they're really poor at internal communication too. Too many hoops to jump through to get the message approved. It's a sad indictment of Sky's management style and ethos.

Prepare for an extreme case....

Broadband package: Sky Connect? Not that sure.
Normal Speed: 6-6.8Mb
Current throttled speed: 0.001Mb-0.005Mb (1-5KBps)
Average usage per day: Extreme downloading, hundreds of gb a month
What does this throttling affect? Downloads, site loading. But not xboxlive strangely.

Well I hope it helps to hear an example of someone who hammers their connection. But I see even those of you who don't use theirs much getting some pretty awful throttling.

Currently looking into alternatives but in my village there aren't many.

or connect I think you will find you are on sky max you will find a thread about sky max
