Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Stephen01's case is an example that shows that some (or all) sky operatives are using some strategies to deter people from leaving the connect service. It is blatantly non-business like (or business like, depending on your opinion of what businesses are all about.....) to use a customer's ignorance against them and not to let them know of their rights. That is one case of many.
How many times have any of you in the past, not bothered to read terms and conditions? I know I have not bothered in the past, but now, I tend to delve more, looking to see where a company has a let out.
If sites like this and thinkbroadband etc did not exist to support the customers of many different ISP's, I wonder what levels of in-contract service people would be stuck with for months on end.
Sky is losing the chance to keep its connect customers' locked into unfair service qualities because said customers' are being educated on how to use their fundamental rights and not letting such bully tactics stop them from possibly claiming "breach of contract due to quality failure" in the worst cases, in my opinion.
Either way, the connect failure threads are massive and evidence of poor attitude and/or training.
Still, there are many large companies/corporations that seem to do this, but it still does not mean it's professional or right.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Just an update, having been with ADSL 24 for 2 months. NO issues, No throttling, and no lies from tech support.
Sky repeatedly told me my set up was wrong and i had to be connected to the master socket (i'm not boasting but thats a long way in my gaff). They blamed BT, phone extensions, distance from exchange (800m),filters, router, etc.
I will not return to them, they lied repeatedly to me and did nothing to resolve the issue. They even closed tickets without my consent.
I will be LLU in the next year, but at present i get up to 8.1 meg and thats all i need to be happy

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
tickets dont need your consent to be closed...
as for the lying - chances are the agent didn't know the real reason so was telling what they thought was true...not that im defending them but bare that in mind before making sweeping statements...-------------------------------------------

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
no, if they don't make contact with you in 3 days it's closed...if we get hold of you then it goes on until it's done...we've got tickets months old on the queues...
e.g. we call, don't get an answer and leave a vm you'll have 3 days to call back in, or 2 more call back attempts from CST before it's closed...-------------------------------------------
