Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
I don't know if it has been posted here before but according to reports, BT will be offering up to 20Mb to existing Total Broadband subscribers and new customers. See here - Millions to benefit from free 20Mb/s broadband boost BT Broadband
A bit of a kick in the doodahs for Sky who are increasing prices and reducing limits.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Sky won't be rolling out the adsl2+ speeds until all exchanges are active on 21CN from what I believe...but my evenings speeds have greatly improved since the move to IPStream...
Although I didn't have much of an issue before, I'm nearly at full speed even now...although they don't seem to notice BST!!

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
BT are offering the upgrade free to their own customers, I wonder if they will be doing this for the ISPs that re-sell for them, like Sky, Plusnet etc? Maybe Ofcom will have something to say if they don't.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Hi Tom Bt benefits interesting. I think that a guarantee about ofcom after they have been informed by one of the ISP`s, I think what has been leaked from Sky is probably four or five lines of a paragraph the rest of the page which offers various option on the packages only 6 days to find out not long which way Sky have gone. IANTE yes speeds have improved up to now always over 1.5mb

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Hi Guys,
I Just thought I would post back here, my old post page 128ish.
I phoned Sky many times and once got through to a really techy person who said he would get BT to investigate my herendous capping/traffic shaping, I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it but in the last 2 weeks my connection after 5pm is running the same speed as before 5pm.
I can finally watch vids on Youtube and BBC I-player
I guess either BT or Sky have changed their Capping/Traffic Shaping rules as I'm the 3rd person on this post to report things are 1000% better
I am still waiting to be moved on to the SKY MAX (LLU) package even the Techy bloke said he couldn't understand why I'm on Connect when the Exchange is LLU compatible, he said why don't they just put an expansion card in the newcastle under lyme exchange and move people over :-)
Any way I'm actually fairly happy with my connection now, it's only taken 8months in to a 12 month contract to gets thing sorted!!! :-)

MrChukkel
Hi hope you are keeping well. You might find the speed issue is getting better mine has been better than normal no really low speeds 5 till midnight
IANTE Just a heads up, the Connect product is changing this month from using BT Centrals to IP Stream Connect.
That is, and is already running, but the 20Mbps is not as until BT have rolled out 21CN for everyone.
